Turi Henderson (Chorus)-Turi Henderson is delighted to make her debut with Bellevue City Opera. A native of Seattle, she is an active consort and ensemble performer, currently singing with Vox16, the Cathedral Choir of St. James, and the Women of St. James Schola. Turi’s opera credits include singing the role of Spirit in Purcell's Dido & Aeneas with Triora Musica, in Italy; Shepherdess in John Blow’sVenus & Adonis and Damigella in Francesca Caccini's La liberazione di Ruggiero dall'isola d'Alcina with Cornish Opera Theatre; and Second Witch/Chorus in Purcell’s Dido & Aeneas with Accademia d’Amore.

Her choral and consort work has taken her around the US, Canada, UK, and Italy, working under the leadership of renowned directors Peter Phillips, Margriet Tindemans, and Stephen Stubbs, and coachings with acclaimed Sopranos Nancy Zylstra, Janet Coxwell and Deborah Roberts.

Turi holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Washington, and a Bachelor of Music in Classical Vocal Performance from Cornish College of the Arts. She can be heard on recordings with Vox16, The Esoterics, Medieval Women’s Choir, and the Cathedral Choir of St. James and Women of St. James Schola.
